| The NRHA awards a scholarship
each year to a graduating Nebraska high school senior. The
scholarship fund was started in honor of the late Ray Warren and Tom
Forst, both with strong ties to the Elkhorn, Nebraska area, AQHA and
the Nebraska Quarter Horse Assoc. Both Ray and Tom passed away
in 1991 and were close friends. The NRHA holds a memorial team
roping jackpot each fall at which a trophy saddle, donated by the
families of Ray and Tom, is awarded. Proceeds from the roping go
to fund the scholarship. NRHA will gladly accept donations in
any amount at any time throughout the year with 100% of donations
going directly to fund the scholarship. |
| The Nebraska Roping Horse
Association encourages all youth who will be high school seniors
graduating in the year 2009 to apply for this scholarship.
Just because the NRHA awards the scholarship does not mean that
applicants must be ropers! Any youth with any background in 4-H,
farming, ranching, showing, rodeo, or agriculture in general, will
meet the application criteria. Applications will be mailed out
to all public and parochial high schools in the state of Nebraska by
December 15, 2008 and the deadline for submission is February 28,
2009. |
| If you have questions, need
additional information, or would like to make a donation to the Ray
Warren/Tom Forst Memorial Fund, please contact Doc Lemon at
402-332-2834 or LKLEMON@att.net. Checks can be made out to and donations may be
